REAL MADRID saw off Athletic Bilbao in Riyadh to lift the Spanish Super Cup.

Luka Modric gave Real the lead just before the break with his first of the season, before Karim Benzema netted from the spot.

Eder Militao saw red late on though and set up a nervy finale, but Raul Garcia fluffed his lines from the resulting penalty.
