Rangers star Joe Aribo’s incredible season in numbers as he plays more matches and minutes than anyone in the WORLD

RANGERS star Joe Aribo has played more matches – and minutes – than any other football star on the planet.

The Nigerian international was a regular starter for both club and country and has been deployed in several positions throughout the recent campaign.

Joe Aribo celebrates goal against Eintracht Frankfurt during UEFA Europa League final.

According to Transfermarkt, Aribo has played more than any other player across the world as he approaches appearance number SEVENTY.

At club level alone, the 25-year-old played in 57 matches for Rangers last season, scoring nine goals and providing 10 assists in the process.

Aribo stepped up at a crucial time for Rangers last season, as he was deployed as a false No9 following the injury crisis to the club’s strikers.

During the UEFA Europa League final, Aribo was deployed as a false No9 and also scored in normal time.

Although his goal was not enough for Rangers to win the Europa League, he did end the season with a Scottish Cup winners medal after a 2-0 victory over Hearts in the final.

At international level, Aribo has become a starter for Nigeria, playing in the sides crucial African Cup of Nations matches and World Cup qualifiers this past season.

Most recently, Aribo started in Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Sierra Leone in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers on June 9th.

He may not even be done yet, however, as Nigeria are scheduled to play Sao Tome and Principe on June 13th – a game that Aribo will likely be a part of.

Elsewhere, Rangers have announced they have entered a new partnership with Hong Kong Rangers FC.

The new partnership will allow for coaching and support mechanisms to be shared between the two sides.

Coaches from Rangers will travel to Hong Kong to provide assistance and support by taking training sessions to help develop their growing relationship.

The new partnership means that teams from Hong Kong Rangers can travel to Scotland to experience the Rangers Soccer Academy set-up.

Hong Kong Rangers FC were founded in 1958 and have won the Hong Kong First Division title once, the Hong Kong FA Cup twice and the Senior Shield four times in their history.

Head of soccer academies and international relations at Rangers Football Club, Gary Gibson, stated: “This is another exciting announcement as we continue to drive Rangers International Soccer Academy in different parts of the globe.

“Creating a strong relationship with Hong Kong Rangers will give us further exposure in the region, and that will see Rangers coaching staff travelling across to deliver camps and coach education events, build strong relationships with schools and welcome groups across to Glasgow for football, educational and cultural events.”
