Springboard for Toon season ahead
Newcastle need to take today’s result as a huge positive, despite the disappointment of letting a two-goal lead slip.
They have shown today that they can go toe to toe with the very best that the Premier League has to offer.
They should go into any game with no fear, knowing if they play their game, they can cause any team MASSIVE problems.
To come back against the champions and then sail into a two-goal lead should leave Newcastle with confidence running high.
In Nick Pope they have a goalkeeper who can win games on his own and the evolution of Newcastle United looks in good hands under Eddie Howe.
Magpies come through unscathed
Not many Newcastle fans truly expected their team to come out of this game with their unbeaten start to the season in tact.
At one stage some of them thought they could actually win this game and would spend the evening in dreamland.

Newcastle winger on different planet
Allan Saint-Maximin was the game changer for Newcastle today and seemed to change the outcome for both sides.
With City in control, The Magpies attacker seemed to come alive all of a sudden and start running at the City defenders, looking to take them on with his silky skills.
As soon as he did so, the fans were on the edge of their seats and Man City actually looked unsure of themselves at the back as the winger turned them inside out.
He looked so dangerous in possession of the ball, anything seemed possible as he glided towards the visitors goal.
On another day, he deserved to win the game all on his own.
Attack is the best form of defence
Often as a football fan, we hope managers forget about defensive tactics and want to see a game where two attacking teams just go for it against each other.
That is exactly what we had here today and this will give the rest of the league some peace of mind that you can get at Man City at the back.
Eddie Howe will be disappointed that they threw away a two-goal lead but the draw is a fair result over the duration of the 90 minutes.
One thing is for sure, this game will live in the memories of all as an absolute Premier League classic.
