Man Utd should prioritise Moises Caicedo transfer but ‘nobody would turn down Chelsea’, admits Antonio Valencia

MANCHESTER UNITED should swoop for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, reckons former Red Devil Antonio Valencia.

The Ecuador midfielder, 20, has shone since breaking into the Seagulls side last season.

Caicedo was linked with the likes of United before joining Brighton from South American side Independiente del Valle for £4.5million last year.

The links re-emerged over the summer, with Liverpool also thought to be keen on the midfielder.

And fellow Ecuadorian Valencia has urged his former club to sign Caicedo.

He told Studio Football: “Hopefully Caicedo can go to a big team in England.

“He is a humble boy, he was born to be great and hopefully he can come to Manchester United.”

Brighton are trying to tie the midfield star down to a new deal following the interest in the summer.

But the Ecuador international inflamed rumours earlier this month when he opened the door to a reunion with Graham Potter at Chelsea.

He said: “I think they [Chelsea] are one of the best teams in the world and nobody would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that.

“It’d be a dream to be in the best teams in the world and succeed there.”

Caicedo has one goal in six Prem appearances so far this season.

United could also move back in for Youri Tielemans in January after missing out on the Leicester midfielder in the summer.

Erik ten Hag will reportedly be given £70m to spend and Tielemans is allegedly the “chosen one” for the middle of the park.
