MANCHESTER UNITED are close to an agreement with Ajax over the transfer of Antony, reports suggest.
According to The Athletic, talks between the two clubs have progressed over the past few days.
The Red Devils are now increasingly confident that the deal – which is estimated to be worth around £85m – will be completed before next week’s deadline day.
Personal terms are not expected to be an issue as Antony has been clear about his desire to join Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
The winger was left out of Ajax’s matchday squad on Sunday ahead of the club’s Eredivisie clash with Utrecht.
After the game, Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder hinted that Antony is expected to move away.

He is currently refusing to play for the Dutch giants in a bid to force a move to Man Utd.
When speaking to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano earlier this week, Antony admitted that he’s spent all summer trying to leave Amsterdam.
