ROY KEANE has responded emphatically when asked to comment on Harry Maguire’s latest rousing speech.
Manchester United slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Wolves last time out, with question marks regarding the unity within the dressing room.
Club captain Maguire has since publicly revealed that he and his team-mates were up ‘for the fight,’ although Keane has slammed him as ‘talking rubbish’.
While on punditry duty for ITV, in response to Maguire’s comments, Keane said: “How many times has he said that? I wouldn’t listen too much to what Harry has to say.
“I’ll judge a player on what he does on a football pitch, not what rubbish he comes out with about players sticking together and we need to do more.
“Judge a player on what he does on a football pitch and United aren’t doing enough.
“I still expect United to turn up and put on a performance but it’s not been good enough recently.”
Maguire missed the defeat at home to Wolves due to injury, and on Friday was listed as questionable for the FA Cup clash against Aston Villa on Monday.

But speaking to manutd.com, Maguire insisted he was up to the task of leading Manchester United.
And he issued a rallying cry to his team-mates, saying: “I’m the captain and leader in the dressing room, and I’ve had private conversations with the players and the management which will remain private.
“Make no mistake about it, I’m here for the fight and I know my team-mates are.
“I expect them to be and if they’re not then – like I said – there’s something wrong.
“We have a big squad. Of course, not all players will always be happy as they are not playing but that’s football and we all have to remain professional.”
Manchester United have won three out of five Premier League games under Ralf Rangnick, but have been far from their fluent best on the pitch.
It’s led to speculation regarding matters behind the scenes, which has led to the likes of Marcus Rashford insisting there was no unrest among players.
United are next in action on Monday evening in the FA Cup against Aston Villa, with Rangick set to name an experimental side at Old Trafford.
The interim boss is ready to shake things up as he seeks to save the season with a bold 3-4-3 system, after seeing his new side struggle to adapt to his 4-2-2-2 formation.
