MANCHESTER UNITED are interested in signing Mauro Icardi from Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.
The Red Devils are in the market for a striker amid continued uncertainty surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The wantaway star was introduced as a 53rd minute substitute in United’s opening day 2-1 defeat to Brighton.
But he is still expected to pursue a move if a viable option arises.
According to Argentine outlet TyC Sports, Icardi’s wife Wanda has been contacted by the Red Devils regarding a potential move.
Wanda, 35, acts as the striker’s agent and has been fielding a number of calls.

Icardi, 29, is surplus to requirements at PSG.
The former Inter Milan forward failed to even be named among the substitutes for PSG’s opening day 5-0 win over Clermont Foot.
He has been linked with a transfer to Serie A newboys Monza.
But a deal has so far failed to materialise, with other teams entering the mix.

In addition to United, Turkish side Galatasaray are keen on the Argentina international.
While Mauro was recently on PSG’s pre-season tour of Japan, Wanda enjoyed a beach holiday in Ibiza.
She went topless in the ocean as she enjoyed some time off in the summer sunshine.
Man United, meanwhile, have turned to Icardi after being beaten to the signing of wonderkid Benjamin Sesko by RB Leipzig.
The Red Devils have also been linked with Alvaro Morata, in addition to Icardi – although they have pulled out of a deal to sign Marko Arnautovic.
