  • That’s all from Lyon

So there we have it, David Moyes’ men have brushed aside Olympique Lyon 3-0 on their quest to European glory. Next up, Eintracht Frankfurt, who ironically, they beat in the Cup Winners’ Cup last time West Ham got this far, in 1976!

    Thanks for reading. Goodnight!

  • Marvellous Moyes proud of boys

I am immensely proud of the players, their performance… I don’t think many people thought we were going to make it tonight. We’ve got a really good group of lads, I’m really lucky.

  • Declan dig at Dembele

In his post-match interview, goalscorer Declan Rice, thought the victory tasted extra sweet after the actions of Lyon’s Moussa Dembele last week. Here’s what he had to say:

There were a few incentives for us to go out and win. Dembele winking at the camera in the first leg, and their Twitter admin saying that they don’t see how they’re not going to get through. Those things come back to bite you. We stayed quiet, put in a performance, and now West Ham are in the semi’s, what more could you want.

  • All smiles

David Moyes deserves all the praise in the world after that performance.

He joined the Hammers in 2017, with his side sitting in the relegation zone.

  • Elsewhere in Europe…

Frankfurt have just beaten Barcelona in a very tense finish over in Spain. West Ham will play the German side next for a place in the Europa League final!

  • Full time – Lyon 0-3 West Ham

West Ham shock Lyon to march on to their first European semi-final since 1976!

It will feel strange to celebrate to the sound of whistles, hundreds of miles from East London, but the players have made their way over to the travelling fans, now.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

90+3, Benrahma shows his strength, and holds off his man before firing on target. The keeper holds on to it, and that will surely be that.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

90+3, Ekambi drags a tired effort wide from 30 yards. Nothing doing for the french side this evening.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

90+1, Lyon just can’t find a gap in the West Ham wall. I count 3 shots, all blocked by maroon bodies. West Ham want that clean sheet, the icing on their quarter-final cake.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

90, The board goes up for four added minutes here.

West Ham nearly home and dry.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham – Hammers substitution

89, Benrahma is on for Rice.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham – Lyon change

88, Ex-Arsenal player, Reine-Adelaide is on for the final moments here. Denayer makes way.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

86, Dembele looks to salvage something, but his effort is straight down the throat of Areola who has been surprisingly untroubled all evening.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham – yellow card

85, Fournals picks up a booking for his protests against the referee’s decision. Tough to know if he was time wasting or moaning. He won’t mind.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham – West Ham change

84, Antonio gets a deserved rest after running himself into the ground this evening. Last round’s hero, Yarmolenko, is on to replace him.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham – yellow card

83, Antonio draws a foul from Barcola who slides in on the forward as he drives down the wing. He looks knackered.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

81, Antonio takes a break in the middle of the pitch with cramp.

Meanwhile, the Lyon fans are keeping spirits high as they turn their backs to the picth and perform little jumps. I imagine that would look far more impressive if they were 3-0 up, but why not.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

78, Gusto swings a perfect delivery into Tete at the back post who was unmarked. Most of the ground thought that was in, as he controlled the volley into the side netting from close range.

Lyon unable to make their chances count. West Ham quite the opposite, as they edge ever closer to the semi-finals.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

77, Dembele attempts to surreptitiously slide one in behind the West ham defence to the on-running Ekambi, but West ham cut it out easily.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham – West Ham change

76, Lanzini is off for Mr experience, Mark Noble, to help see this game out.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

76, That just about sums up Lyon’s night in attack.

Dembele misses the header completely, and it falls to Barcola, who strikes the ball wildly over the bar.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

74, Barcola floats one into the area, Dembele shapes up for the bicycle kick, but Dawson wasn’t having any of it, and bundles the striker to the floor.

    Lyon have a corner, now.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

73, Tete drives into the area and chips one across goal, but Dawson is back on to calmly chest it back to his keeper.

Tete gets to have another go from 20 yards, but West ham throw bodies in the way.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham

71, Ekambi makes the most of Dawson’s momentary absence and finds space in the box. But the winger fluffs his line, and misses the ball completely.

  • Lyon 0-3 West Ham – Lyon substitution

71, Barcola is on to replace Aouar.
