Liverpool head to Paris for Champions League final and get water jet send-off as squad to face Real Madrid is revealed

JURGEN KLOPP and his Liverpool stars took the skies this afternoon in the hope of returning to the north-west with a third trophy of the season.

The Reds were given a water salute before they departed for Paris from Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport.

Star forward Mohamed Salah was all-smiles as he boarded the plane for Saturday’s “revenge” final.

The Egyptian King wrote on Twitter that he had a “score to settle” with opponents Real Madrid after they beat Liverpool in the 2018 final.

And as the plane taxied towards the runway it was sprayed with water in a ceremonial salute.

In a symbol of good luck the fire and rescue services at the airport created a water arch for the plane to pass through.
