But before a single score had been registered, Hart took a horrific blow to the head while making a save.

Pouncing on a ball just six yards out from the net, Celtic ace Hart was brutally booted by Dundee’s Steven Fletcher.

The striker was also trying to get the ball, which was up for grabs.

But Fletcher instead studded Hart in the head by mistake while stretching for a shot.

Incredibly, Hart still made the save with his finger tips.

But the former Manchester City and England star was left with blood pouring from the point of contact.

Medics rushed on before attempting to stop the flow with bandages and towels.

Staples were then used to patch Hart up during a seven-minute stoppage before the stopper bravely continued playing while wearing a new shirt.

Celtic fans were thrilled with his actions, with one tweeting: “I love Joe Hart. That’s a sore one and he put himself right in there to take it.”

Another said: “Brave goalkeeping from Joe Hart. Great save then took a sore one”.

One added: “What a trooper. Just when I thought I couldn’t love him anymore he’s playing on after that. THERE’S ONLY ONE JOE HART!”

But if fans liked Hart’s bravery, they certainly enjoyed the scoreline even more.

Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada each netted a hat-trick in the league thrashing.

Jota, Carl Starfelt and Josip Juranovic also scored as Celtic secured the biggest away win in Scottish football history – breaking the previous record which had stood for 34 years.
