Jadon Sancho reveals reason behind scoring form at Man Utd after struggling for goals last season

JADON SANCHO revealed why he is enjoying a goalscoring spree at Manchester United.

The £73million 2021 arrival from Borussia Dortmund struggled in his debut campaign at Old Trafford with just three league goals and five overall.

But the England winger has impressed under Erik ten Hag this term, starting all five games so far under the Dutchman.

He grabbed the opener in the 2-1 win over Liverpool last week and tucked in the only goal of the game away at Leicester yesterday.

And as he basks in his best spell in the Premier League brimming with confidence, Sancho pinpointed the reason for his upturn.

The Red Devils star, 22, told BT Sport on the King Power pitch: “Obviously, doing pre-season with the team, it was my first pre-season as last year I missed pre-season.

“So I got to know the players a lot more, we worked on stuff and I’m getting more comfortable.

“We hoped to start the season with two wins, but that woke us up and I’m happy we got the third win today.”

Sancho – who scored 50 in 137 games for Borussia Dortmund – added: “It was a great team goal.

“We stuck to the game plan. We knew Leicester would come out fighting in the second half, and as you can see they had a few chances toward the end.

“I wanna score as many goals as possible, I have to keep on trying when I get the opportunities.

“Leicester are not easy, but the team stuck at it and got the three points.”

The 23-cap Three Lions star will be hoping to continue his hot streak this weekend.

United have three victories on the bounce but go up against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side that have won all five matches so far this season to sit top of the league.
