CRISTIANO RONALDO remains in good spirits despite the injury which kept him out of Manchester United’s fortunate FA Cup win over Aston Villa.
The Portuguese superstar missed Monday’s 1-0 Old Trafford victory with a hip problem but took to Instagram on Tuesday morning with a positive post.
Ronnie, 36, shared a post of him standing on a grass bank next to a river or lake.
He was dressed casually in shorts, trainers, a jumper and a cap.
The icon was smiling and captioned the post: “Good morning.”
It received more than 4.7million likes and 54,000 comments.
United boss Rangnick confirmed Ronaldo would miss the Villa clash before the game.
He said: “I spoke with Cristiano yesterday before training, he told me that he had some problems for the last couple of days, some minor problems.

“In the end we decided to not take any risks in a cup game that could easily last 120 minutes.”
He added: “I suppose he will be in the stadium.
“But he had some problems with his hip, with his hip muscle, and we just decided that it would be better for him not to play this game.

Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes in United’s 1-0 loss at home to Wolves.
And not even the Portugal legend could turn things around as his side laboured to a shock loss.
But one man who came out of the defeat with praise was Phil Jones – having started his first United game in TWO YEARS.
