A FORMER Manchester United youngster has declared he “would love to come back” to Old Trafford.
The now-Lille man left the Red Devils back in 2020.
That was after first joining United’s academy aged six-years-old.
He was given his senior debut at just 16 by former manager Jose Mourinho.
The playmaker made 10 appearances for the Red Devils before deciding a switch to France was best for his development.
After being tipped for a big future at Old Trafford, he left on a free transfer after failing to nail down a regular starting spot.
Now though he has admitted that can see himself returning “home” to United one day.
The former prodigy being… ex-star Angel Gomes.
Gomes was sent out on loan to Portuguese side Boavista immediately after joining Lille in 2020, but he has impressed this season back at the French club.
Despite his recent success, Gomes has admitted that he dreams of an emotional return to Old Trafford.

Speaking on his decision to leave, he told L’Equipe: “It was a very difficult decision. In my heart, I wanted to leave, in my head I was thinking of staying.
“But I had to follow my heart. I felt that I needed to take another step in my career.
“I felt that, had I stayed, there wouldn’t be a lot of opportunities for me. Luis Campos and Lille spoke about their project and I believed in it even more.
“That’s what convinced me to move – the faith Lille had in me.”
But Gomes is enticed by the prospect of running out at Old Trafford again.
He continued: “Do I imagine myself coming back one day? Obviously, it’s home.
