Richarlison thought he had a third Champions League goal in his second game in the competition when he rolled the ball in the back of the net just before the break.

But the £60million summer signing saw his effort ruled out for offside.

Sporting then struck twice at the death to claim a famous 2-0 win and condemn Spurs to their first defeat since April.

Paulinho put the home side ahead in the 90th minute, before Arthur made it two in the third minute of stoppage time with a brilliant solo goal.

A section of Sporting fans refused to honour Her Majesty Elizabeth II during the minute’s silence before the game.
