EVERTON brutally sacked Rafa Benitez in a brief 40-word statement.
The ruthlessly direct announcement comes after just 19 Premier league games in charge for Benitez, 61.
Angry Toffees fans demanded the sacking of the ex-Liverpool boss after their surprise defeat to relegation contenders Norwich on Saturday.
The statement was posted on the club’s official website less than 24 hours after the loss at Carrow Road.
It read: “Everton Football Club can confirm the departure of Rafael Benitez as First Team manager.
“Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, has left the Club with immediate effect.
“An update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course.”
Given his Anfield past, The Spaniard’s spell at Goodison Park was cursed from the beginning.

Having referred to Everton as a ‘small club’ during his time at Liverpool, the appointment was controversial from the start.
And just one win and nine defeats in the past 13 games was enough for the board to ditch Benitez.
The response on Twitter was one of anger, fans clearly upset at the current state of the Merseyside club.
One user analysed: “Almost like it isn’t the managers that are the issue at Everton, it runs deeper than that.”
Another asked: “Ancelotti couldn’t fix you, Rafa couldn’t fix you. Who next?”
Previous gaffer, Carlo Ancelotti, walked out to join Real Madrid leaving Everton fans irate.
Of course, the abrupt statement on the sacking, gave rival Liverpool fans an excuse for a chuckle at the Toffees expense.
One said: “Left you in 15th, 6 points from relegation, had you getting battered at home in the derby, kicked one of your best players out of the club, made you a joke all around England.
“Thank you for everything Rafa.”
