Everton substitute Salomon Rondon sent off after just TWO MINUTES for X-rated challenge on Brentford’s Rico Henry

SALOMON RONDON was sent off for an X-rated tackle just two minutes after coming on in Everton’s match against Brentford.

The striker was brought on to try and rescue a point for the Toffees as they trailed 3-2 at home.

But instead Rondon recklessly flew into a tackle on Rico Henry with both feet off the ground, catching the Bees ace on his shin.

Referee Michael Oliver had no option but to show the Venezuelan a red card and kill any chance of an Everton fightback.

Rondon’s dismissal meant Everton went down to NINE men after youngster Jarrad Branthwaite was red-carded in the 18th minute.

But despite Rondon’s moment of madness Frank Lampard still shook his hand as he sprinted down the tunnel.

Everton twice took the lead against Brentford before Thomas Frank’s side produced two moments of magic from Henry and Yoane Wissa to win the game.

The Toffees now have the most red cards in the Premier League this season with four, overtaking Leeds.

It is a blow to Lampard to lose Rondon ahead of yet another huge game against Crystal Palace on Thursday.

A win would secure safety but a loss, followed by Sunday’s trip to Arsenal, could doom Everton to the bottom three.

They will be thankful Burnley lost 1-0 to Tottenham while Leeds only managed a point against Brighton.

A win for Everton against the Bees would have secured their Premier League status – but now it could go down to the final day.
