EVERTON managerial target Vitor Pereira is flying to the UK today to continue advanced talks with the club.
The Portuguese coach had an interview with the Toffees last week and impressed the hierarchy with his innovative plans and unique coaching style.
And SunSport understands Pereira, 53, will meet with Everton officials in person to discuss a potential agreement further.
Pereira has come close to joining Everton on two occasions in the past – the first in 2013 before now Belgium coach Roberto Martinez took the reins.
He was also in the frame in 2019 while boss of Shanghai SIPG after Marco Silva’s departure until Carlo Ancelotti was signed on.
Pereira is currently out of work after getting sacked by Turkish giants Fenerbahce in December after just five months.
In December 2017 Pereira was hired by 1860 Munich to try to avoid relegation from Germany’s second tier but the club went down in a play-off.
But Everton are hopeful Pereira would be able to lead them out of their lowly situation in the Premier League – sitting in 16th six points off the bottom three.

Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat by Aston Villa has heightened fears they will be dragged into a relegation scrap.
But keeper Jordan Pickford is confident the Toffees, who have not been relegated since 1951, will survive.
He said: “The fight, intensity, tempo was there. We showed that graft.
“We showed character and desire. It was just that finishing touch but that will come.
“It’s about working hard on the training pitch, and then going out there and expressing yourself with determination and we’ll get those results.”
Everton are also still considering a stunning return for former player and England legend Wayne Rooney, ex-Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and out of work Niko Kovac.
Ex-boss Martinez was the main target before failing to come to an agreement with the Belgium FA over managing both a club and international side ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
