Steve Cooper’s Forest came into the game full of confidence after upsetting West Ham with a tight 1-0 win.

Both Jordan Pickford and Dean Henderson played their part in keeping the scoreline down.

But the deadlock was broken with less than ten minutes to go when Johnson latched onto Pickford’s spilled save to put the newly promoted side ahead.

It was looking like Cooper’s men would leave Merseyside with three valuable points, making it six from an available nine.

However, Pickford would redeem himself in the dying minutes.

The keeper played a long ball over the top of Forest’s defence for Gray to run onto.

The winger brought the ball down and fired past Henderson to snatch a point.
