Road to Sevilla
So 16 teams remain in the Europa League. Who will progress through to the quarter-finals?
West Ham to face Sevilla
Domestically, Sevilla are fighting for the LaLiga title. But standing in their way in the Europa League are West Ham.
Promises to be a fascinating tie.
West Ham and Rangers learn fate
So then, will we see a British side in the quarter-finals of the Europa League?
West Ham take on Sevilla, while Rangers meet Red Star Belgrade. Interesting.
Porto take on Lyon
Two more European titans collide in another mouthwatering Europa League tie as Porto are drawn against Lyon.
Another clash which could easily have been a Champions League knockout tie a few years ago.
Barcelona drawn against Galatasaray
Barcelona vs Galatasaray is an eye-catching Europa League last 16 tie, that’s for sure.
Two sides who would have been expected to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League a few years ago.
What do we make of that?
So, West Ham have been drawn against Sevilla. That is an incredibly tough tie for David Moyes’ side. Sevilla currently sit six points off the top of the LaLiga table.
Meanwhile, Rangers have been drawn against Red Star Belgrade. They’ll take that, you can imagine.

Technical procedure being explained
So we are about to get the draw underway. The technical procedure is being explained.
I would suggest Uefa listen out for this as they fudged the Champions League last 16 draw. Fingers crossed this one goes off without a hitch!
Who do you want?
So, West Ham and Rangers fans, who do you want to get in the last 16?
Do you want a European titan or the best possible route to the quarter-finals?
We are just moments away from finding out.
Andres Palop to conduct draw
Former Sevilla keeper Andres Palop will conduct the draw.
Given he won the competition on three occasions and this year’s final being played in Seville, it seems fitting that he get his moment in the sun today.
Ukrainian invasion addressed
Uefa’s deputy general secretary Giorgio Marchetti says football wants ‘peace and peace now’ in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
It comes after Uefa opted to strip Russia of the Champions League final earlier today. That match will now take place in Paris at the Stade de France.
Montages of each last 16 side
We are now being given a glimpse of each of the last 16 teams’ highlights from their Europa League campaigns so far this season.
I suppose they have to drag it out somehow.
There we go
The audio has been corrected and coverage of the draw has begun.
The Europa League trophy is on show. You forget how absolutely huge it actually is…
We are underway
We are underway but Uefa appear to be having issues with their audio! So far all we can hear is a very loud buzzing sound over the top of the presentation.
Not a great start for all involved.
When are the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final?
Quarter-finals
- First legs will be played on Thursday, April 7.
- Second legs will be contested on Thursday, April 14.
Semi-finals
- First legs will be played on Monday, April 18.
- Second legs will be contested on Thursday, May 5.
Final
- The final will take place in Seville, Spain on Wednesday, May 18.
Nearly draw time
Right, it looks like we are about to get underway with the show (not the draw just yet).
I’m sure a load of important Uefa people will have their moment on stage before we actually get to why we’re here.
