ERIK TEN HAG insists he wants to put the Cristiano Ronaldo controversy behind him after reinstating the club legend into the Manchester United squad.
The Red Devils boss axed Ronaldo from the game against Chelsea at the weekend after he had refused to come on as a substitute against Spurs the previous mid-week.
But after peace talks between the pair Ronaldo is back and set to start in tomorrow’s Europa League tie against FC Sheriff.
Ten Hag said: “It’s not difficult.
“But I think we said everything and we answered all the questions, he was out for one game and is back in the squad as usual.
“We will not answer anymore, so all the questions, I think, everything we explained and we have to focus on the game tomorrow, we have an important game because we want to be number one in the group.

“I don’t have to do it anymore, It’s done, he’s back, focus on the game, that’s important that Cristiano is involved.”
Club captain Harry Maguire is also back in the squad having been out with a hamstring injury suffered on England duty during the last international break.
That puts him back on course for the World Cup and Ten Hag says he has a big role still to play at United before that, particularly with Raphael Varane out injured.
He said: “He always has an important role, he was injured, happy in his own way back and now he has to get back into games.

“It’s always about performance, about presentation and I think regarding his qualities, no problem, great player and great capabilities to do a job for us.”
While Maguire is back on course for Qatar, Raphael Varane who came off at Chelsea in tears after suffering a hamstring injury looks certain to miss out with France.
United boss Ten Hag confirmed that he would not play again before the World Cup virtually ending his chances.
