LIONEL MESSI and Neymar have become the latest in a long line of footballers to be booed by their own fans.
The South American duo were mercilessly booed by Paris Saint-Germain Ultras during the 3-0 Ligue 1 win over Bordeaux on Sunday.
Messi and Neymar were targeted by PSG supporters after their side threw away a commanding lead to crash out of the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid midweek.
The Argentine, 34, was also ordered to quit the club in graffiti scrawled on the club’s training ground.
But Messi and Neymar are by no means the only stars to be jeered by their own fans.
We take a look at seven of the biggest names in football to have been targeted by supporters of their own club.

Jorginho – Chelsea
NOW a key man in the Blues XI, helping the club win the Champions League and Club World Cup while also guiding Italy to the Euro 2020 crown, Jorginho did not enjoy the best of starts to life in London.
And during one match in his debut season, the ex-Napoli midfielder was booed by Chelsea fans after replacing Ross Barkley in their Europa League clash with Malmo in 2018-19.

Granit Xhaka – Arsenal
THE Swiss midfielder was subjected to continued abuse from Arsenal fans in 2019 while he served as captain during a tricky time in the club’s history.
Xhaka infamously lost his rag after being subbed off during the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace and screamed ‘f*** off’ in the direction of Gooners.
The X-rated outburst saw Xhaka being stripped of the armband.
Rio Ferdinand – Man Utd
THE Man Utd legend once toyed with the idea of quitting Old Trafford.
Ferdinand appeared to have his head turned by Chelsea in 2005 – and stalled on a new United contract worth £100,000 a week.
The ex-England star eventually decided to stay, but not before fans let rip with every touch during pre-season.
Wayne Rooney – England
IN 2016, England laboured to a 2-0 win against Malta – with the Three Lions’ record scorer targeted for abuse from the stands.
Man Utd and Everton legend Rooney struggled to make an impact on the game, with fans eager to take it out on him.
Gareth Bale – Real Madrid
LOS BLANCOS fans have long enjoyed a love-hate relationship with Welshman Bale.
In their defence, Bale has never been shy in taunting Real supporters – including his infamous ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order.’ banner.
Time and time again though, the Bernabeu crowd has erupted in a chorus of boos aimed at the ex-Tottenham winger – despite his 2018 Champions League final heroics.
Fernando Torres – Chelsea
FOREVER known as a £50m flop following his January 2011 move from Liverpool, Torres was regularly a target for Blues’ fans jeers.
On his 100th appearance for the club – a 2-0 League Cup defeat to Swansea – the Spaniard was booed with every touch of the ball, as fans exploded in a mighty cheer when he was subbed off for Demba Ba.
Ashley Cole – England
THE ex-Arsenal and Chelsea left-back took the brunt of England fans’ frustrations during a 2008 win over Kazakhstan.
The Three Lions went into the break level at 0-0 as Fabio Capello’s side struggled to break the deadlock – leaving the 89,000-strong home crowd furious.
England eventually scored and quickly went 2-0 up, before a wayward backpass from Cole handed Kazakhstan a lifeline.
The hosts would go on to score three more times – but not after Cole was loudly jeered.
The abuse wasn’t helped by the fact Cole was two years into his rocky four-year marriage to Cheryl…
David Beckham – LA Galaxy
EVEN Becks wasn’t immune to the boos of angered fans.
In 2009 – two years into his stay in the US – he sparked fury from Galaxy fans by announcing he would ditch a chunk of the MLS season to stay on loan at AC Milan.
Needless to say, supporters were fuming, calling him a ‘part-timer’ and a ‘fraud’.
However, he would go on to win the 2011 and 2012 MLS Cup with the Los Angeles side to repair his relationship with American fans.
Such is his love of US football, he is now the owner of MLS side Inter Miami.
