THE Premier League forwards with the best shot conversion rate so far this season have been revealed… and it makes fascinating reading.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo’s finishing has dropped off significantly at the start of the new campaign.
His shot conversion rate has fallen from 16 per cent last season to just five in the 2022/23 term.
This led SunSport to take a look at where the Portuguese legend ranks among the other Premier League forwards when it comes to their deadliness in front of goal.
And we can now reveal that Ronaldo’s five per cent conversion rate puts him down in 53RD place after bagging just one goal from 22 shots.
A host of much lesser known attackers are higher up on the list than the Man Utd man, including the likes of Southampton’s Adam Armstrong, Everton’s Alex Iwobi and Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey.

It is worth noting that those included in the statistics have to have had five or more shots in the league this season.
With that in mind, Manchester City marksman Erling Haaland is the name everyone assumes to have topped the charts.
The Norwegian, 22, boasts a conversion rate of 36 per cent thanks to 17 goals from 47 shots.
But, quite incredibly, he is in second place.

One player sits above the former Borussia Dortmund striker when it comes to this metric.
That man is Bournemouth’s Kieffer Moore.
The Welshman, 30, has had just EIGHT shots so far this season and scored with THREE of them.
This gives him a conversion rate of 38 per cent – the best in the Premier League.
He narrowly edges out Haaland at the top of the list, with a host of other surprise names making up the rest of the top 10.
Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho is third after netting twice from just seven shots.
Behind him comes Haaland’s understudy at Man City, Julian Alvarez, with Newcastle new boy Alexander Isak propping up the top five.
