CRISTIANO RONALDO is reportedly set to stay at Manchester United because no club wants to sign him.

The striker wanted to leave the club in the summer and there was talk he would depart in January.

Some of Ronaldo’s United team-mates also believed he would be off when the transfer window re-opens.

But according to ESPN there are a lack of suitors for Ronaldo and that means he is set to stay until the end of the season, when his contract expires.

It is also believed Erik ten Hag would not want to let Ronaldo go as he will reportedly not be given funds to replace him.

That will not stop Ronaldo pushing for a move however as he is still keen to play Champions League football.

The Portuguese will also be desperate for more minutes after starting just one league game this season.

Ronaldo, 37, was linked with moves to several clubs in Europe over the summer.

But despite interest from the likes of Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, an offer never materialised.

In fact, the only concrete bid for the forward came from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

They were willing to offer Ronaldo an eye-watering £2million-a-week contract but both he and United turned down the approach.

Galatasaray are the latest club to be linked with the Turkish giants said to be willing to go “all out” with an ambitious bid.
