CHELSEA this morning confirmed the shocking news that they have parted ways with Thomas Tuchel.
The German was sacked after last night’s Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, with the Blues sixth in the Premier League.
But the decision would have come regardless of last night’s result in Croatia, according to The Athletic.
It comes 100 days after American businessman Todd Boehly and his Clearlake Capital consortium took control of the club.
In that time the new owners have discussed their long-term vision for the club, with the Telegraph claiming Tuchel did not actively prove that he wanted to be part of the new culture.

A clash of styles first came to the fore during Chelsea’s pre-season tour to the USA.
Tuchel is believed to prefer working on his own, unlike Boehly and Clearlake cofounder Behdad Eghbali.
It is also claimed the mood within the club has been tense, with Tuchel’s relationship with some players souring in recent weeks.
The German coach is claimed to have left members in the squad in the dark before putting them back into the team, causing confusion among players.

The owners now plan to appoint a head coach for the long-term, with reports suggesting they plan to have someone new in place by the weekend.
And the plan is for the next person to be in the dugout for years to come.
SunSport can exclusively reveal that Chelsea are planning to speak to Brighton about the availability of Graham Potter.
In a club statement Chelsea said the new owners “believe it is the right time to make the transition”.
The full statement read: “On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club.
“Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.
“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.”
The current coaching staff will now take training ahead of Saturday’s West London derby clash against Fulham.
But the club vowed to move quickly to appoint a new gaffer.
