CHELSEA striker Timo Werner has arrived in Germany with his girlfriend ahead of a return transfer to RB Leipzig.
The 26-year-old only left for Chelsea in a £47million transfer in the summer of 2020.
But after struggling to score goals and nail down a starting spot, the German will return to Leipzig in a £25.3m transfer.
Werner arrives for nearly half the amount he was sold for and he comes with a Champions League winners’ medal.
The transfer will leave boss Thomas Tuchel even shorter in the striker department.
Club record signing Romelu Lukaku has also left the club, but in a loan transfer to Inter Milan, who he helped win the Serie A in the 20/21 season.

The transfer of Raheem Sterling has helped soften the blow.
Armando Broja is also now the only recognised striker at Stamford Bridge.
Werner’s compatriot, Kai Havertz can also operate up top if asked.
Chelsea could dip into the market for another forward with boss Thomas Tuchel admitting his side lack energy.

Speaking following Chelsea’s opening day Premier League win over Everton, Tuchel said: “We can add, but we are open for everything.
“We can use new energy, fresh legs and fresh input. I think we could use some more input and some more quality.”
