Chelsea have endured a rollercoaster of a campaign – and one they’ll want to forget in a hurry.

Thomas Tuchel’s men were pipped to both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup by Liverpool.

And at one stage, the West London outfit looked as if they could miss out on a Champions League spot despite being in the top four all campaign.

However, Arsenal’s loss to Newcastle cemented CL qualification for the Blues which gives Tuchel the freedom to approach this game against Championship-bound Hornets, anyhow he chooses.

Team news

Long-term absentees Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi have both stepped up their recovery sessions, but they’ll have to wait until next season to feature in another Premier League encounter.

As for Andreas Christensen, his alleged hotel disappearance before the FA Cup final may have resulted in the defender playing his last game for Chelsea who will be jetting off to Barcelona in the summer.

Elsewhere, Roy Hodgson has a whole host of injuries to deal with going into Watford’s final Premier League game.

Imran Louza, Nicolas Nkoulou, Cucho Hernandez, Tom Cleverley and Juraj Kucka have all been forced into the treatment room.

Joshua King, Kiko Femenia, Ismaila Sarr and Emmanuel Dennis are another quartet of players who could be out of contention.

However, Joao Pedro returned to the line-up against Leicester with a goal which is good news for Hodgson.
