Bored Ederson watches Man City’s win over Man Utd from halfway line as fans tell keeper to bring a deckchair next time

MANCHESTER CITY goalkeeper Ederson watched the win over rivals Manchester United from the halfway line.

The Brazilian had very little to do in the game facing just five shots in the 4-1 home win.

One of them, of course, got the better of him and that was Jadon Sancho’s well placed first half goal.

In the second half, Man City played their rivals off the park and Ederson faced NO shots.

It was the second time in the last SIX seasons that United have failed to have a single shot in the second half of a Premier League game.

And as his team-mates put together a tactical masterclass up the other end of the pitch, Ederson sat on the halfway line.

One fan said on Twitter: “Ederson should’ve brought a deck chair with him today.”

Another said: “Ederson sat down on the halfway line sums up Manchester United.”

The goalkeeper also made 22 accurate passes in the first half – more than any member of United’s midfield.

Scott McTominay completed the most out of United’s men in the middle, making 20 passes.

Frenchman Paul Pogba completed 13 and Fred 12.

United’s lacklustre performance was blasted by legend Roy Keane.

The Irishman said: “The worst thing you can say about Man Utd is that they gave up, in any game to give up is unforgivable really.

“The beauty with top level sports is that there is no hiding place, I know United have come here in the last couple years and done well but we saw all of United’s shortcomings today.

“There’s ways to lose football matches, we’ve all lost football matches but the way United lost today – they stopped running, they gave up, players not running back, that’s what I don’t understand.”
