So, to recap, Villarreal scored late to level 1-1 against Bayern Munich this evening, winning 2-1 on aggregate. They progress through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for just the second time in the club’s history, where they will meet either Liverpool or Benfica.
It wasn’t to be for Bayern Munich, who crash out at the quarter final stage for the second season running.
