BAYERN MUNICH were sensationally knocked out of the Champions League by Villarreal after Chukwueze’s late goal at the Allianz Arena.

Robert Lewandowski put Bayern ahead but couldn’t keep out a late equaliser from Unai Emery’s side, who will face Liverpool or Benfica in the quarter-finals.

    So, to recap, Villarreal scored late to level 1-1 against Bayern Munich this evening, winning 2-1 on aggregate. They progress through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for just the second time in the club’s history, where they will meet either Liverpool or Benfica.

    Bayern had multiple chances to score this evening, but few were bigger than Muller’s. Around the 70 minute mark, Sane whipped the ball into the German, but with the whole goal to aim at, Muller sent his header wide.
