  • That is all from us!

That wraps up tonight’s SunSport coverage of Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid.

Thank you for joining us tonight, we hope you enjoyed the game as much as we did.

Whilst you are here, check out the results of tonight’s huge Miami Grand Prix, which was won by Max Verstappen!

  • Top performers

The SunSport man of the match tonight was Yannick Ferriera Carrasco.

He was excellent all night with his pace and trickery proving impossible to deal with, especially for Lucas Vazquez in the first half.

Vinicius JR was excellent when he came on, as was Luka Modric. It is incredible how the latter continues to perform at 37-years-old, a proper Rolls-Royce midfielder.

  • Still work to do

Whilst Real Madrid have the title in the bag, and will be focused on the Champions League final, Atletico still have a lot of work to do…

They have tough league fixtures still to come against third placed Sevilla, and sixth placed Real Sociedad.

You would imagine that they would have to win both of these if they are going to be competing in next years Champions League.

  • SunSport reacts:

It was domination almost start to finish from Atletico.

Real Madrid looked much more dangerous once Vinicius and Modric were on the pitch, which is testament to their individual quality.

Real Madrid will not be too bothered by the result, but it is huge for Atletico on the other hand.

  • Full Time.

FT. It is full time in Madrid, as Atletico come out on top in this rendition of a classic tie.

It is a 1-0 win for Atletico this time round.

  • Final sub Atletico.

    94. Renan Lodi comes on for Yannick carrasco who receives a huge ovation.

he has played very, very well today.

  • All hands on deck

90+3. Modric sends a cross into the middle that is cleared by Giminez.

    Atletico are defending heavily here.

  • Into added time

    90. We are into added time here, and there will be FIVE minutes of it.

  • Atletico sub!

    89. Rodrigo De Paul is making a cameo appearance in place of Matheus Cunha, who won the penalty to give Atletico the lead.

  • Free kick Real Madrid

    86. Rodrygo is continuing his good form today, despite the lack of goals.

He drives towards the Atletico defence and is bought down giving a free kick to his side.

  • Good effort Vini!

    85. Vinicius cuts in from the left flank as he does so well and fires a shot on his right foot.

It is however, straight into the arms of Oblak.

  • Can’t finish!

    82. Atletico should have this wrapped up, it could easily be two or three-nil, but they have been far from clinical.

They will hope they don’t live to regret those chances.

  • Red card appeal!

    80. Vallejo catches Cunha with his arm and the players are appealing for a second yellow card, but the referee waves them away.

  • Carrasco off the post!

    78. He is playing so well tonight, but he cannot get his second goal as he hits the post now!

The rebound does not fall kindly for Griezmann either, really unfortunate for los Rojiblancos.

  • How has he missed?

    77. Carrasco has done so well to open up the Real Madrid defence, and finds Griezmann in the box, he drills his effort wide of the post but he really should score from there.

Especially a player of his quality.

  • Ambitious!

    75. Cunha sees that Lunin is off his line and has a go from distance, but his effort is still travelling out of the Wanda Metropolitano…

  • Wide from Griezmann

    74. Griezmann does well to get on the end of Koke’s free kick, it looks like his shot is going into the top left corner, but it is wide.

    Relief.

  • Atletico sub

    73. Felipe is coming on for Reinildo!

  • Nacho yellow card

    71. This is a feisty one.

Nacho is the next player to go into the referees book.

  • Real Madrid substitutes

    68. It is the third substitute of the game for Real Madrid, which sees Luka Modric come on in replace of Toni Kroos

Ferland Mendy is also coming on for Eder Militao.

  • Blocked by Reinildo

    66. Vinicius does well to drive at the Atletico defence once more, he finds Asensio who has a shot at goal, it is blocked by Reinildo.

Reinildo goes down to receive some treatment.

  • Yellow card for Savic!

    64. We have another yellow card.

This time for Stefan Savic, he blocks off the run of Vinicius JR in the final third, which gives Real Madrid a free kick in a promising position.

  • Saved by Lunin!

    63. Lunin does really well to make the save from Cunha!

Griezmann robs his compatriot Camavinga of possession and drives to the edge of the Real Madrid box, he finds Cunha but his shot is saved and saved well.

  • Double change!

    62. Here come the big boys…

Vinicius JR and Fede Valverde are coming on.

They will replace Casemiro and Luka Jovic, the latter was poor today.

  • Chance Atletico!

    61. This one is heating up!

It is a chance for Atletico, Carrasco has the chance to score and make it 2-0 and a brace for himself, but his effort goes over the bar after some great play from Llorente.
