FORMER Arsenal transfer target Dusan Vlahovic looked a big money flop as he took a comical dive for new club Juventus.
The £62million January transfer has got off to a good start in Turin, scoring one and assisting one in three games played.
Vlahovic’s form will undoubtedly make Arsenal jealous after the North London club spent most of the winter window trying to acquire his services.
But Arsenal were reportedly used as a ‘smokescreen’ by Fiorentina to agree the Juve deal.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta even aimed a subtle dig at the highly rated forward.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the tight win against Wolves, the Spaniard was asked about whether quality players will want to play for the club given what happened with Vlahovic.
To which he said: “Absolutely. We have the tradition, what the club inspires, what we are as club it is enormous.
“Everybody wants to play for Arsenal.

“I haven’t had one time a phone call from a player, or member of staff, or someone in recruitment saying they don’t want to join Arsenal. That’s for sure.
“Then, if they go for financial reasons that’s something else in their mind.
“But their willingness to come and be part of this… I haven’t experienced something different and we are really glad.”
Some Gooners will be glad they didn’t get Vlahovic after watching him try to buy a cheap penalty in the Old Lady’s 1-1 draw with Atalanta.
The Serb knocked the ball past his marker Rafael Toloi and threw himself to the ground.
Toloi and his Atalanta team-mates raised their arms in protest whilst Vlahovic tried to carry on like nothing had happened.
The dive sparked outrage on social media, with fans questioning why Vlahovic wasn’t cautioned.
One fan quipped: “It is among the contractual clauses; for each fall in the area without contact, a bonus is triggered.”
Another said: “It’s crappy stuff. At Fiorentina this did not happen.
“Two weeks of an accelerated course by Dybala, Cuadrado and Chiesa were enough to make him understand how to behave in the area.”
Atalanta took the lead in the 76th after a well worked free-kick routine was slammed home by Ukraine international Ruslan Malinovskyi.
But Danilo came to Juve’s rescue late on, scoring an emphatic header.
