ARSENAL are plotting a shock summer transfer swoop for Marcus Rashford, according to reports.
The Manchester United forward is enduring a rough time at Old Trafford this season.
He has hit a barren run of form and slipped way down the pecking order – with just five goals in 26 appearances across all competitions and two completed 90 minutes.
The England international was dropped by Gareth Southgate for the current Three Lions camp and he also had to deny swearing at a fan amid a confrontation with hecklers after United’s Champions League exit.
However, according to the Mirror, Rashford could be offered an escape route out of Old Trafford by Arsenal.
The Gunners are in desperate need of signing a striker in the summer.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left in January leaving just Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah as their remaining senior centre-forwards – but both are out of contract in the summer.
And Rashford could help lead the line in front of the exciting talents of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli.
He has bags of experience with 59 goals in 198 Premier League appearances – including two on his debut against Arsenal in 2016.
And despite coming through the academy at his boyhood club, some believe a change of scenery could help Rashford reinvigorate his stuttering career.

His current deal will only have 12 months left come the end of the season.
However, United do have the option to extend it by an additional year to 2024.
Should Arsenal not land Rashford, they have also been linked with Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Alexander Isak of Real Sociedad and Benfica’s Darwin Nunez.
