Arsenal handed transfer boost as Mudryk reveals Premier League dream and wants to develop like hero Cristiano Ronaldo


ARSENAL have been handed a big boost in their pursuit for Mykhaylo Mudryk, after he revealed it is his dream to play in the Premier League.

Mudryk, 21, has been linked with a move to a number of clubs ahead a move away from current club Shakhtar Donetsk, with English sides among those monitoring his progress.

And in a big boost to The Gunners, Mudryk revealed it was possible for him to play in the league one day.

He told The Times: “Yes, yes, it is possible (to come to the Premier League).

“The Premier League is the best league in the world and everyone want to play in this league.”

Mudryk has caught the eye with his performances this season, with starring performances in both Champions League games against RB Leipzig and Celtic which sees him lead the goal contribution charts in the competition with four.

The Ukrainian winger is also confident in his own ability and potential, despite the debate regarding whether he would be good enough for the English top flight.

He said: “No (I was not aware of the debate)! I appreciate it, but I must improve a lot of moments because I think I can play better.

“I’m only at maximum 20 per cent of my potential.”

Additionally, Mudryk has drawn comparison’s to his game with Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo after revealing he idolises the Portuguese legend, and hopes to develop his career in a similar fashion.

“My inspiration is Cristiano Ronaldo because of what you can do if you work hard and believe in yourself,” he added.

“I like the way Cristiano plays. I see myself like that – a winger.

“But I need more time to change my position from 11 or 7 to 9. With time it is possible.”

Brentford and Everton have previously both failed with bids for Mudryk, with The Toffees seeing a £26million bid rejected during the summer.

Arsenal’s interest is duplicated by Liverpool and Newcastle, while a further three teams across Europe also want him.

Mudryk has previously insisted he “can’t say no to Arsenal,” while Shakhtar director Darijo Srna gave him high praise

“After Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr, he’s the best player in Europe in his position,” he declared.
