Antonio Conte linked with Juventus to replace Max Allegri with Tottenham boss ‘open’ to return to club despite turmoil

ANTONIO CONTE is being linked with a sensational return to Juventus.

The Tottenham boss is “open” to the move if Juve sack under-pressure manager Max Allegri, according to reports in Italy.

Allegri has notched just two wins in seven Serie A games this season.

And the Italian giants are thought to be encouraged by the fact Conte has yet to extend his Spurs deal beyond next summer.

But the 53-year-old has guided Tottenham to third place in the Premier League this term after qualifying for the Champions League.

And in August the Italian insisted he was content at Spurs – and willing to stay for the long term if their solid progress continues.

Conte said: “I didn’t need to sign contracts for one, two or three years.

“I’m happy. We’re working really well together. It’s not that one year on the contract more or less can change the situation.

“For sure we want to continue to improve, to build something important for this club.

“If the idea continues to be in this way, there will be zero problems to continue my life in Tottenham because I stay well and I like this group of players and I have a good relationship with [managing director, Fabio] Paratici and with [chairman] Daniel Levy.”

Nonetheless, Italian publication Il Bianco Nero claims Conte would not rule out going back to Juventus, where he won three titles from 2011-14.

He has also been spotted in Turin, relaxing during the international break.
