CANELO ALVAREZ can finally move on from his rivalry with Gennady Golovkin after almost half a decade.
The pair first drew in 2017 before Canelo won the rematch by majority decision a year later.
But the thrill and controversy of the results left fans demanding a trilogy to complete the series.
After four years of waiting, Canelo secured bragging rights conclusively over 12 rounds in Las Vegas.
Now, the question turns to what is next for the Mexican superstar? And here, SunSport breaks down his options.
Dmitry Bivol
Canelo, 32, came into his trilogy fight with Golovkin, 40, off a defeat to WBA light-heavyweight champion Bivol.
After settling the score with GGG, he is ready to finish his last revenge mission in a rematch with Bivol, 31.
He said: “It’s very important for my legacy, for me, for my pride, for my country, for my family, for everything.
“It’s very important and I will beat him.”

David Benavidez
Now back at super-middleweight, as the undisputed king, Canelo has a host of opponents waiting in line for him.
And no one on a hotter streak than Mexican-American Benavidez, 24, who has 23 knockouts in his 26 wins.
He is dubbed the “Mexican Monster” by Mike Tyson with many believing he is the toughest test for Canelo at 168lb.
Before Canelo accepted a two-fight deal with DAZN – against Bivol and GGG – he turned down a three-bout PBC package that included Benavidez.

Jermall Charlo
The Texan, 32, is currently the WBC champion at middleweight but has long teased a move up to face Canelo.
He was also an option offered by PBC as part of the three-fight deal with his personality and unbeaten record appeasing fans.
Canelo has also headlined in Texas before due to the heavy Mexican presence in the state.
Meaning a title fight with Houston’s Charlo makes for a guaranteed stadium sellout
Oleksandr Usyk
Heavyweight champion Usyk, 35, and Canelo have both sensationally opened the door to an extraordinary catchweight clash.
Ukraine’s boxing hero said he would be willing to face the sport’s biggest star at 201lb, just 1lb above the cruiserweight limit.
And Canelo said this month: “It’s difficult, but I don’t care. I like that kind of challenge.”
It is unlikely the pair will fight next, or at all, but is cannot be ruled out.
Ilunga Makabu
Canelo last year had a request accepted by the WBC to challenge champion Makabu, 34.
It would have seen him attempt to become a FIVE-weight world champion.
And although talks were later shelved, the fight remains a possibility.
It would see Canelo attempt to join an elite list of legends.
