CONOR BENN has warned his loudest critics to maintain their volume if he is cleared of his doping charge.
The 26-year-old welterweight had his catchweight clash with Chris Eubank Jr cancelled on Saturday after it was revealed he had failed a VADA test.
While the British Boxing Board of Control and UK anti-doping investigate the traces of female fertility drug clomifene found in his system, Benn has kept a well-advised silence.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, who was made aware of the adverse finding on September 23 but was still pushing for the October 8 fight to go ahead 48 hours out, has urged fans to give Benn and his team time and due process to clear his name.
But the undefeated son of British ring legend Nigel could not resist a social media comment on Wednesday, after it was reported he had failed a second test that would potentially threaten his career.
The father-of-one wrote on Instagram: “I hope the apology is as loud as the disrespect”.

Hearn is in Australia promoting his latest DAZN broadcast Down Under and he is fighting the accusation that he tried to cover up the scandal and bully the BBBofC into sanctioning the fight.
He also wants one of the brightest stars in his stable to be afforded the chance to investigate the red flag.
Hearn has already dismissed suggestions that opening the VADA B-sample will help clear his man.
And SunSport understands the crux of Benn’s defence will be doubts over the credibility of the test, rather than a justifiable explanation of how the banned substance got in his system.

Hearn said: “It wasn’t kept from anyone, the commission was aware from the get-go and there is information about the testing and the amounts that will come to light.
“You will see from various bits of information that the opponent and the team were willing to move forward with the fight, having seen all of the information.
“We wanted an opportunity for Conor Benn to be heard and have a hearing, he never got that opportunity.
“The board decided not to sanction the fight, we respect that decision, we don’t necessarily think all of the process was right.”
