BLOOD, bruises and cuts were on show at the O2 Arena last weekend following yet another bare-knuckle boxing event at the famous venue.
The Indigo at the O2 has become a regular venue for bare-knuckle promotions in recent years.
And on Sunday night, it played host to BYB Extreme Fighting’s 12th show – which well and truly lived up to its “extreme” moniker.
The adequately titled “London Brawl” featured 11 fights – many of which left the combatants battered and bruised.
But unlike traditional boxing matches, the bouts took place in a triangular ring – which is becoming a regular occurrence across the globe.
The dimensions of the “Trigon” left little room for the fighters to escape close encounters with one another.

And that meant far more gruesome and blood-drawing exchanges than in regular bouts.
Post-fight snaps of the combatants showed the devastating effects of repeatedly being hit in the face bare knuckle.
Most, if not all, of the fighters on the card suffered serious swelling to their faces.
There were black eyes aplenty too.
Unsurprisingly, there were some serious hand injuries after the fights – with main eventer Carlos Guerra being one of the fighters sporting a swollen hand after his clash with Seth Shaffer.

Guerra and Shaffer’s welterweight title fight served as the showpiece bout for the BYB 14.
Shaffer left the Indigo with the belt thanks to a second-round TKO victory – which came courtesy of a nasty straight-right, left-hook combination.
A bloodied and bruised Guerra tried to beat the count but was unable to rise to his feet before the ref reached ten.

Guerra’s blood was ultimately the last to be spilt on the canvas on another gruesome night at the Indigo.
But given the growth of bare-knuckle boxing over the last few years, it most definitely won’t be the last.
