WEST HAM midfielder Tomas Soucek was left with a bloodied face after being kicked in the face by Everton striker Salomon Rondon.
Sliding in to try and get the ball in front of the Toffees man, the Czech star caught a boot in the face for his troubles.
And it was clear after the incident that Soucek has suffered some troubling injuries to his face which needed to be attended to by the physios.
Soucek then came off as a result, being replaced by Craig Dawson in the 79th minute.
West Ham won the game 1-0 as they continued their fine form away from home at Goodison Park.
Five minutes before Soucek’s injury, Angelo Ogbonna netted the only goal of the game, flicking a header in from a corner.
Reacting to Soucek’s injury, one fan said: “Christ, lucky he didn’t blind him…
“How the ref didn’t stop this for a head injury?! Soucek always giving blood for the cause.”
While another joked: “Surprised he didn’t book Soucek for simulation.”
Soucek also had a goal ruled out for offside in the first half of the match as he strayed just beyond the Everton back line before rifling past Jordan Pickford.
