WAYNE and Coleen Rooney’s stunning £20million mega mansion is finally complete after a series of delays, we can reveal.
And the couple – ribbed over its likeness to a Morrisons supermarket – now jokingly refer to it as “Mini Versailles”.
The real Palace of Versailles was built for Louis XIV in 1682 and is a World Heritage site with 2,300 spectacular rooms.
The Rooney’s own palace – seen here in our exclusive pictures – may not have as many but it lacks none of the grandeur.
The family’s six bed home should have been ready at the start of the year but Covid restrictions have led to repeated setbacks.
They are now confident they will be in by the end of the month as workmen make the finishing touches.
Landscapers have also been completing the gardens.
A source said: “It’s been a difficult and often frustrating process but it’s done. They’re absolutely thrilled with it and can’t wait to be in.
“They’ve still got the house nearby so are moving between both homes until everything is moved over.”
The source said Coleen, 34, was so desperate to get in she even considered living around the builders “to give them some focus”.
The new property sits on a 40-acre plot in Knutsford, Cheshire, and comes complete with bespoke furniture throughout.
It also boasts stables, a six-car garage, an orangery and two man-made fishing lakes – as well as a whisky and cigar room for Wayne.
Wayne, boss at Championship side Derby County, also has his own football pitch.
On the lower ground floor is a TV room, snooker room, bar, wine store, cinema, gym, jacuzzi, swimming pool, plunge pool and steam room.
The main entrance and reception halls, kitchen, dining room, family room, study and library are on the ground floor.
The mansion will also boast separate lifts — one for the family, the other for visitors.
And after an attempted burglary at their home in 2016 builders have created a secure underground escape route linking the pad to the nearby garage and stable block.
The tunnel has steel doors at either end. In the event of intruders, it can whisk Wayne, Coleen and their kids off to safety.
