JACK GREALISH failed to contain his delight after finding out he will be wearing the iconic No10 shirt for Manchester City.
The 25-year-old completed his British record £100million move to the Etihad on Thursday from Aston Villa.
Grealish has agreed a six-year deal with the Citizens, with his transfer eclipsing the £89m Manchester United spent on Paul Pogba in 2016.
And he is now Britain’s most-expensive player with his move to link up with Pep Guardiola’s side breaking Gareth Bale’s £85m switch to Real Madrid eight years ago.
In a bonus for the former Notts County loanee, Grealish has been handed the vacant No10 jersey which became available after Sergio Aguero departed after ten years.
Other notable players to wear the shirt number include Edin Dzeko, Shaun Goater, Robinho, Denis Law and Rodney Marsh.
City released a video of Grealish’s first day at the club, where they surprised him with the shirt number he wore during his time at Villa.
Grealish was left shocked when he saw his name and number printed on the back of a City top.
He remarked: “Wow. I didn’t even know that I was going to be No10!
“That’s made my day. That’s made my day that has. That’s made my year actually.”

Grealish is now in contention to make his City debut in the Community Shield clash against Leicester on Saturday.
And he has revealed that his desire to win trophies proved key in his choice to leave his boyhood club.
He said: “I am incredibly happy to have joined Manchester City.
“City are the best team in the country with a manager considered to be the best in the world – it’s a dream come true to be part of this club.
“Over the past ten seasons, they have won major trophies consistently. Pep coming here has taken them to the next level and the football this team plays is the most exciting in Europe.
“To play for Pep and learn from him is going to be special and it’s something any top footballer would want.
“The facilities are amazing, and I honestly can’t wait to get started, meet everyone and get playing.”
