TOTTENHAM have reportedly had a bid for Real Madrid’s teenage starlet Miguel Gutierrez rejected.
Jose Mourinho is said to have been knocked back in an approach for the 19-year-old defender, according to Defensa Central.
And it is not the first time The Special One has failed to land his man.
The report claims the Portuguese boss tried to sign Gutierrez as a 16-year-old when he was in charge at Manchester United in 2017.
Marca claims Gutierrez turned down Old Trafford in order to avoid disrupting his family as one of his parents would have had to move overseas with him.
Mourinho looks to have failed again with the player on the verge of the Madrid first team and keen to make his mark in the Spanish capital.
Gutierrez is still part of the academy system but has been linked with a move to Italy.
Both Juventus and Inter Milan are reported to be keen on the highly-rated youngster.
Left-back Gutierrez has not yet been handed a senior debut by boss Zinedine Zidane.
The Spain Under-19 international progressed into Madrid’s Castilla B-team ahead of this season and has made 12 appearances.

Real president Florentino Perez is adamant that the side’s best young players should not be poached.
And Gutierrez is believed to be in Zidane’s thinking going forward.
It is the second time since joining Spurs that Mourinho has gone after a Real Madrid left-back after he paid £27million for Sergio Reguilon in September.
