Spurs meanwhile are four points adrift of the top four, but do have a game in hand on four of the five teams above them.

    That’s all for now though.

  • MATCH REPORT

Plenty to talk about from tonight’s clash.

Spurs thought they’d taken the lead early on through Son Heung-Min, only for VAR to rule the goal out for offside.

Liverpool then took the lead on the stroke of half time as Roberto Firmino tapped home from close range to end Liverpool’s run of 482 minutes without a goal in the league.

Trent-Alexander Arnold’s effort doubled Liverpool’s lead, but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s wonder-strike pulled Spurs back into the game.

Liverpool thought they had gone 3-1 ahead through Salah, only for VAR to bring play back for a handball by Roberto Firmino on the halfway line.

Liverpool did then score a third, as Sadio Mane capitalised on a Joe Rodon error to put Liverpool 3-1 ahead.

After that Spurs didn’t show too many signs of getting back into the game, and Liverpool saw out the game to pick up their second win in nine league games.

  • JURGEN’S ANALYSIS

This is what Jurgen Klopp has to say at full time:

“It was a great game, super intense as I said before the game that it would be.

“We scored the goals in the right moments, scored wonderful goals, the right people scored the goals so all good apart from obviously Joel Matip had to go off.”

  • ON HARRY KANE

“He’s injured in both ankles and he says that to cope with one one pain [he] probably he could but he says with both [it’s] very painful and very sore, and getting big [in] both ankles in both feet.

“He couldn’t [play], he just couldn’t [play].

“He’s a guy with a good sacrifice spirit, he can fight against pain but [it] was difficult for him.”

  • JOSE’S THOUGHTS

This. iswhat Jose Mourinho has to say at full time:

“At half time we lost Harry.

“We lost that goal just before half time and in the first minute of the second half [we make] another mistake [and concede] another goal.

    “Good reaction, 2-1.

“The team again fighting on the pitch and bringing Liverpool back, [but then make] one more mistake and [it’s] 3-1.

“[Then it’s] very difficult to fight against so many mistakes, so of course some of the guys are very disappointed because some of them had a very very positive performance.

“I would say a very good performance by some of them but we were punished by individual mistakes.”

  • AS IT STANDS

This is what tonight’s result means for the Premier League table.

Liverpool are back into the top four after picking up just a second win in nine league games.

Tottenham are now four points behind fourth placed Liverpool with one game in hand.

  • TRENT TALKS

These are the full time thoughts of Trent Alexander-Arnold:

    “It’s what we needed.

“It’s what we deserved as well, I think we dominated most of the game.

“Obviously they had the early goal disallowed, [it] probably would have changed the way the game went on but we’ve come here with a game plan, we’ve executed it perfectly.

“[It was a] little bit tough when they scored but at the end of the day I think we deserve the three points and yeah we go away with them.”

  • WONDERKID

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s goal takes him to twenty-one goal involvements since the start of last season in the Premier League (5 goals and 16 assists).

That’s more than any other defender, and one more than his fullback partner Andy Robertson.

  • FULL TIME STATS

The are the full time stats from the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Nothing between the teams in terms of possession, but Liverpool managed seven shots on target compared to just two for Spurs.

The Reds also had more than three times as many touches in the Spurs box than the home side had in theirs.

  • TOTTENHAM 1-3 LIVERPOOL

A thoroughly entertaining game comes to an end.

The ball was in the back of the net six times in the ninety minutes, but both sides had a goal each ruled out by VAR.

Liverpool fans will hope the Reds have turned a corner after that performance, while Spurs fans will be disappointed with uncharacteristic defensive errors.

Reaction from both managers is coming up shortly.

    Salah has to do better!

Jones plays the ball in to him behind Dier.
