Tottenham 1 Fulham 1 LIVE REACTION: Cavaleiro heads home superb equaliser after Kane opener for Spurs

HARRY KANE has given Spurs the lead in their Premier League clash with Fulham – thanks to a sensational cross from Sergio Reguilon.

But Fulham pegged them back in the second half with a resurgent performance as Ivan Cavaleiro nodded in super-sub Ademola Lookman’s cross.

  • GOODNIGHT FROM NORTH LONDON

It was a game we knew nothing of two days ago, but Tottenham and Fulham served up a thrilling contest at short notice this evening and ended up sharing the spoils.

Harry Kane expertly headed Spurs in front midway through the first half, but the visitors grew in strength and belief after the break, and eventually got their equaliser through a fine header of their own – scored by Ivan Cavaleiro.

Jose Mourinho demanded an apology from Scott Parker before kick-off, but perhaps he should be issuing one of his own after his team sat back on another lead, and were once again caught out.

Spurs have now dropped ten points from winning positions this season, and are beginning to fall behind the pacesetters at the top; a win would have moved them third but instead they trail behind the likes of Manchester City, Everton and Leicester.

At the other end of the table, the draw wasn’t enough to lift Fulham out of the bottom three, but they carry a confidence and ability that wasn’t evident two months ago.

Now tough to beat, the Cottagers have drawn five in a row in the league, and finally ended their London derby hoodoo of 13 consecutive defeats with this deserved point.

They have another on Saturday against near-neighbours Chelsea, and a similar performance of this calibre will have them troubling Frank Lampard’s team.

Spurs, meanwhile, go to Sheffield United at their weekend, with their players and manager alike determined to show that they are able capable of dealing with teams marooned in the dropzone.

Until then, thanks for reading, and goodnight.

  • PROUD PARKER

Fulham boss Scott Parker thought the decision to arrange this fixture two days ago was scandalous but he’s a delighted man this evening after his team fought their way to a deserved draw.

I thought we were outstanding tonight from start to finish. Nobody really knows what we’ve been through the past couple of weeks. We had players out there who have had one day’s training. I’m very proud of them.

    Scott Parker

  • A GOOD POINT

After a fifth draw in succession, the Fulham players hope their critics are finally getting the message.

  • MOURINHO REACTION

Jose Mourinho was in a relaxed and jovial mood ahead of kick-off, but he’s not smiling now. The Tottenham boss believes his team should have won tonight, but failed to kill the game off.

We were not good enough, but we were good enough to win. We were good enough to create four or five big chances, and good enough to give Hugo [Lloris] a quiet evening.

    Jose Mourinho

  • SPURS STUTTER AGAIN

Tottenham have now dropped ten points from wining positions this season, four of those in the past three weeks.

  • COTTAGERS REVIVAL CONTINUES

If Scott Parker can find a way for his side to turn some of these draws into wins, Fulham may not be heading for the immediate return to the Championship that most were expecting.

  • FT: TOTTENHAM 1-1 FULHAM

The spoils are shared in North London after Ivan Cavaleiro’s header cancelled out Harry Kane’s first half opener. Both sides could have won in late on in what was a really entertaining contest.

    80. Tottenham win a disputed corner as Anguissa challenges Kane.

Jose Mourinho wants to make a change before it’s delivered, however, and sends for Carlos Vinicius to replace Tanguy Ndombele.

He won’t do it from this set-piece though as Adarabioyo heads clear.

    78. Fulham come so close to turning the game on its head!

It’s another excellent header as Ivan Cavaleiro climbs high to plant Ademola Lookman’s left-wing cross past Hugo Lloris.

With just over quarter of an hour to play, can either side find a winner?

  • GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLL!!
    IVAN CAVALEIRO EQUALISES!!

  • TOTTENHAM 1-0 FULHAM

    71. Son! Off the post! The Spurs forward is sent clear and looks destined to make it 2-0.

Son doesn’t get his shot away cleanly as he angles across Areola, but it looks as though it’s creeping in until it bounces back off the woodwork.

  • TOTTENHAM 1-0 FULHAM

    70. Scott Parker’s team work the ball from right to left via some impressive pirouettes from Decordova-Reid.
