Spurs fan group snub Daniel Levy meeting and repeat calls for chief and board to go over ESL breakaway attempt

A SPURS fans’ group has snubbed chairman Daniel Levy’s offer of a peace summit – repeating calls for him and his board to go.

Under-fire Levy wanted to meet with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust following the criticism he and the club have received in the wake of the shameful European Super League scandal.

But the influential fans’ body rejected the hard-nosed supremo’s invitation to talks with his executive board.

It insists it wants to meet owners ENIC directly to discuss the implementation of a six-point plan it has compiled “to lead the club into a new era.”

A THST statement said: “Part-owner Daniel Levy has offered a full Board-to-Board meeting, but we have made it clear that business as usual is not an option.

“We want to meet with the club’s owners, and to clearly establish the basis for any meeting before it takes place.”

The trust’s six-point plan for the club includes replacing the current executive board as a way of the club distancing itself from the failed ESL.

It also wants the current board to pay any fines as a result of their involvement in the breakaway, with the club committing to fan consultation over non-footballing matters and restructuring to a share ownership that would allow outside investment.

The statement added: “We must do more than just voice our opposition to the current board and ownership.

“This six-point plan gives supporters of Tottenham Hotspur something to unite behind, and a clear objective. It proposes solutions that are achievable.

“We invite the club’s owners to meet with us to implement the six-point plan above.

“We believe successfully making these changes will enable us to secure the future for the club and the game that we all want to see.”
