REACTION FROM ARTETA
“I think we were really good right from the start, we had chance right away when Laca went one on one with the ‘keeper, we conceded a goal from a corner and we reacted straight away, I think we were really good on the ball, our pressing was excellent, I think overall it was a strong performance.
“Pepe was really good again, he created some big moments, scored a goal, he was involved in many good actions, he worked really hard, he deserved his chance today and he took it.
“(Saka) has been very consistent through the season, we played him in different positions and he’s adapted really well, he’s completely comfortable on the right, his link up play is excellent, his finishing is good, he’s assisting players. I think he had a really strong performance again today.
“It’s really tough to win here, they’re a really good side, they’ve been in great form, teams really struggle against them and the way we managed the game and what was required in each moment, it showed a lot of intelligence and resilience from the team.
“We still have a lot to do, we have a lot to recover and a lot of things to improve.”
REACTION FROM SAKA
He told BT Sport:
“Saturday was disappointing for us, to be knocked out of the FA Cup, we’re the holders so we took it badly, we knew their weaknesses and exploited them and we got the victory that we deserved.
“I’m really happy everyone, everyone put a shift in and we’re so happy to get the three points here.
“I’m just happy to be playing for Arsenal, it’s a dream so I just have the passion when I get out on the pitch, the boss makes everything clear for me and at the same time gives me the freedom to do what I want to do in the final third.
“Game after game we take it, this year the Premier League is changing so rapidly, couple months ago we were in the bottom half and now we’re in the top half, it can change so quickly, we just have to focus on every game and try to win each one.”
SOLID PERFORMANCE FROM XHAKA
LACA AND SAKA COMBINATION
A GREAT PERFORMANCE FROM SMITH ROWE
ARSENAL’S IMPRESSIVE FORM
IMPRESSIVE FROM PEPE
Only Alexandre Lacazette (10) has been involved in more goals for Arsenal in all competitions this season than Nicolas Pepe (9 – 6 goals, 3 assists).
GREAT NIGHT FOR SAKA
Bukayo Saka is just the second English teenager to score for Arsenal in consecutive Premier League appearances after Ashley Cole in October 2000. Composure.
GUNNERS STAT ATTACK
Alexandre Lacazette is the first Arsenal player to reach 10 goals in all competitions this season, whilst he has now hit double figures for goals in all four seasons since joining the Gunners.
