SERGIO AGUERO will only sign a two-year deal with Barcelona if close friend Lionel Messi confirms he is staying at the Nou Camp, reports in Spain claim.
Manchester City’s outgoing record scorer Aguero, 32, is already said to have received a draft contract from Barca.
But AS say the 32-year-old will not formalise his move unless he knows one-club legend and Argentina team-mate Messi has ‘committed his future’.
City and Aguero announced a month ago he would leave the Etihad in the summer on a free transfer.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Juventus have been linked with the former Atletico Madrid star.
But Barcelona have remained the frontrunners to capture one of the Premier League’s top strikers of this century.
And Catalan publication Beteve reported that Aguero’s agents were given a copy of a draft contract for him joining the Spanish giants.
He remains a far cheaper option for Barca than taking part in a bidding war for Borussia Dortmund goal machine Erling Haaland.

Manchester United – and especially City and Chelsea – are tipped to bid big for the Norway centre forward in the summer.
And assuming Messi stays, the main issue for Aguero switching to Barca could be his £12million-a-year wage demands.
Some suitors might be deterred by his injury-hit season, where he has made just five starts, netting once.
