EURO 2020 fans were in hysterics after Robbie Savage had a meltdown during Wales’ 4-0 defeat to Denmark.
The former Derby County and Leicester City midfielder was BBC’s co-commentator for his country’s last-16 tie at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.
Despite a bright start from Gareth Bale and Co, the Danes took the lead following a stunning effort from Kasper Dolberg.
Mikkel Damsgaard played a wonderful ball into the Nice forward who curled a strike into the corner from the edge of the box.
Denmark then doubled their lead shortly after the break after Neco Williams’ poor clearance was tucked home by Dolberg.
But Savage was audibly aggrieved that the goal was allowed to stand after Kieffer Moore appeared to have been fouled in the build-up.
He said: “It was a foul but terrible defending. There’s the foul… HOW was that not a foul?
“Surely that’s got to be checked! It’s a foul but they still got to defend better than this.”
However rather than gaining sympathy Savage’s comments delighted fans at home who shared their joy on social media.
One fan tweeted: “Robbie Savage’s head is rolling. Love to see it”.

Another said: “Robbie Savage will have “how is that not a foul?” on his gravestone.”
A third added: “Drink Everytime savage says “how is that not a foul””.
One more commented: “Robbie Savage crying about the foul is making my Saturday so much better.”
It didn’t get much better for the Welsh after they conceded two late goals and Harry Wilson was sent off in a 4-0 rout.
However, Savage did have one supporter in Gareth Bale who shared his disbelief that it wasn’t a foul after the full-time whistle.
He said: “It’s not how we wanted the game to go, from our point of view we started very well and then the game changed.
“We tried to play in the second half but made a mistake to concede which killed the momentum on our side.
“To finish how we did is disappointing but the boys are frustrated and angry understandably, I’d prefer us to go out that way.
“If you play the ball through the back of someone it’s a foul, I felt the ref was influenced by the supporters here.
“It’s disappointing, that’s all I can say.
“We’ve missed an opportunity but I can’t fault the effort and that’s the minimum requirement, I’m proud of them still.”
