Mikel Arteta wants to revamp his squad after the Gunners missed out on European football for the first time in 25 years.

A string of other clubs had been interested in the England centre-back, 23, including Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham and Liverpool.

White was rewarded for his impressive form with a place in the England squad after Trent Alexander-Arnold pulled out through injury.

And potential new club team-mate Saka has already hailed the former Leeds United loanee after watching him up close in training.

When asked by ITV’s Gabriel Clarke who has surprised him, the 19-year-old said: “Earlier I said I was impressed the most by Ben White.

“I haven’t seen him a lot this season but coming here and training with him, I’ve been impressed with him.”

Manchester City star Foden was also in agreement with Saka’s assessment after admitting that how impressive White has been this month.

He added: “I haven’t really seen a lot of Ben but he’s come in and I thought he’s been brilliant in training. So I would probably say Ben White.”

SunSport recently revealed that Arsenal remain locked in talks with Albion owner Tony Bloom over signing White this summer.

The Gunners, whose first bid was £40m, are discussing a potential offer of £45m plus £5m in add-ons but Brighton are said to want more.

Meanwhile, Kieran Tierney has committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new five-year contract worth £120,000 per week.
