OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER must win a trophy at Manchester United this season considering their summer signings.
That is the view of former United left-back Mikael Silvestre who has heaped pressure on the Norwegian.
United have splashed out more than £100million on Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.
The pair have arrived from Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid respectively and Silvestre, 44, thinks the Reds must win some silverware as a result.
He told MyBettingSites: “Solskjær must win a trophy this season and he’ll be aware of that.
“For the players, the manager and for the club. It is in the DNA of Manchester United.
“They were so close last season with the Europa League and I’m sure they’ll use that as extra motivation this year to push them over the line.
“The team has all the ingredients to win trophies and be successful, but it’s about turning up on the day and finishing the job.

“If they can have a season where they don’t suffer many injuries and can keep the team fit, then they can give it a good go.”
Some people have criticised United for not signing a striker yet while Chelsea have bagged Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane is heavily linked with Manchester City.
They instead extended Edinson Cavani’s contract but Silvestre reckons the Uruguayan can still have an impact on the squad.
He added: “Signing Sancho and Varane are two key elements for United to push on, as well as keeping Cavani for one more season.
“The team should be ready to push to challenge City for the title.
“There should be plenty of confidence and self-belief within the players as individuals and as team-mates, so I’d expect them to put in a good effort in challenging for the title this year.
“The manager has been around the players for long enough now where he should know how to get the best out of them.
“Harry Maguire has had plenty of experience of being the captain and is constantly growing as a player and a leader.

“Scott McTominay is also not shy from taking responsibility in key situations.”
United thrashed Leeds 5-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday with Bruno Fernandes scoring a hat-trick.
And Silvestre added: “It’s early doors but it’s a great start and hopefully United can keep it going.”
