It has seen the champions drop behind Manchester United while also being leapfrogged by Man City and Leicester.

Salah, 28, had maintained his terrific goalscoring form early in the season with 13 goals in 17 league appearances.

But he cut a frustrated figure after drawing his latest blank in the 0-0 draw with the Red Devils.

And Owen, who burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old at Anfield, believes Salah is not doing enough to help his team.

He told Premier League Productions: “There is a lot of selfishness creeping in, I’ve seen that again.

“Mo Salah is not passing enough of the ball again. He’s never passed it much, but there are extremes. The last sort of few games I’m thinking ‘come on’.”

It is not the first time Salah has been accused of being too selfish.

In September 2019, Sadio Mane had a row with his team-mate after Salah failed to pass to him while wide open in front of goal.

Boss Jurgen Klopp was forced to defend the ex-Chelsea man and said he wouldn’t tell Salah to stop.
