GERMANY’S stars gave Manuel Neuer a guard of honour as he earned his 100th cap for the country.
The goalkeeper made his debut against UAE in 2009 and has gone on to become one of the top shot-stoppers – inside and outside the box – of his generation.
The Bayern Munich star has remained first-choice for club and country for over a decade and lifted the World Cup in 2014.
Before Die Mannschaft’s game against Latvia on Monday, he donned a special pair of ‘100’ gloves to mark the occasion.
And the Neuer was warmly welcomed into Dusseldorf’s Merkur Spielarena as he captained his country for the landmark.
No keeper from the men’s national team had reached 100 caps for Germany before the 35-year-old, with 1970s star Sepp Maier coming closest on 95.
Silke Rottenberg and Nadine Angerer have both achieved the feat for the women’s side.
Joachim Low said ahead of the game: “From the first moment he was with us, I had the feeling he would go on to be one of the world’s great goalkeepers.”

Neuer is expected to be first-choice for Germany’s Euro 2020 bid, with Kevin Trapp and Arsenal’s Bernd Leno also in the squad.
And he watched on as his team-mates dismantled Latvia having drawn with Denmark in their other warm-up friendly.
Ilkay Gundogan and Serge Gnabry were both on the scoresheet as Low’s men led 5-0 by half-time before Timo Werner and Leroy Sane made it 7-1.
World champions France await in Munich for the opening game of their Group F campaign on June 15.
